Money Helps You Lose Weight - What A Surprise (Said No One, Ever)
A newly published article on CNN confirms what I've said numerous times myself: money helps you lose weight.
We're not talking the having of money - which definitely does help, since fresh produce and good-for-you stuff costs a lot more than the cheap, fat-laden, sodium-rich stuff you can find all over the grocery store. No, we're talking specifically about a financial incentive.

I Hate Writing This, But I Have To Write This
Like the title says, I hate writing this, but I have to write this because I have to write.
I know, that's too much to explain. Let me summarize.
What I'm trying to say is.....I have to put this blog on hold and take a hiatus for awhile. You can still find me on this blog, and this blog, but in this space, I'm going to be sporadic at best. I'm not going to stop posting outright, but I'm backing off my commitment to post 3-5 days a week here. And the reason why is I'm just plain stretched too thin.
I've got a full-time job, a paying blog, another blog, two kids (one of whom requires a lot of my time and attention) and the biggest reason - I'm finally on the homestretch of completing my book. I want it pitch-ready by June and to do so, I have to hunker down, find time and discipline, and just do it.
Something's got to give, and I'm afraid it's this blog, for now.
I'll post when I can, but it won't be with any kind of regularity, at least at this blog address. The other two blogs will still see me on a regular basis. Thanks to all of you for your help and support.
Hopefully, when I get back to posting I will have dropped another 20 pounds because I'm too busy writing to eat. I'll keep you posted!

Diet Shakes And Smoothies - What's Your Favorite Recipe?
I'm not a big proponent of diet shakes you can buy in the supermarket. I find them overly sweet and sometimes chalky and insanely overpriced as well. I do like making my own smoothies in the blender at home (and I'm contemplating buying a Magic Bullet or a NutriBullet).
